Covenant Region of C.P. Women's Ministry Fall Meeting
Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church
October 15, 2011
The Covenant Region C.P. Women's Ministry met Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with the Woodlawn Church. Jodi Belt from Woodlawn presented the prelude.
Welcome: President Paula Bell welcomed everyone and thanked the Woodlawn ladies for hosting the meeting.
Worship Service: The worship service was started by singing "Open My Eyes", led by Charlotte Guarneros. The group participated in a Path Litany. Special music was presented by Jodi Belt. Rev. Donna Davenport gave the devotional using Isaiah 55:8-9 as her scripture reading. She stated we never know how God will answer a prayer and that sometimes we may think there is no answer. The group was encouraged to stop and pay attention to what God is saying. Rev. Davenport also presided over Communion. The service was closed by singing "He Leadeth Me" led by Charlotte Guarneros
Recess: A break was taken for the Executive Committee to make committee assignments.
Credential Report: The Credential Report was given with 46 present representing 13 churches. The report was accepted and filed under Appendix "A".
Constituting Prayer: The Constituting Prayer was given by Lora Kerner, Oakland Church.
Adoption of Program: Motion made, seconded and passed to adopt program subject to any necessary changes.
Recognition of Visitors and Ministers: Ministers present were Rev. Donna Davenport.
Committee Assignments:
Correspondence: Wanda Nelson, Flat Lick Church and Debra Heady, Oak Grove Union Church.
Resolutions: Susan Beatty Oak Grove Church, Nancy Lanham, Piney Fork Church.
Offering and Prayer: Donna Robertson, Oak Grove Union Church presented information on Project #1: Faith in 3D and Project #2: Children's Home Chaplain salary for 2013. The offering was received by Debra Heady, Oak Grove Union and Jane Plum, Oak Grove Union. Paula Bell gave the Offering Prayer.
Convention Report: In the absence of Sidney Milton, Convention delegate, Elaine York presented Sidney's report. Elaine made additional comments based on her experience at Convention. The 2012 Convention will be held in Florence, Alabama.
Retreat Report: Keisha Hopkins, Piney Fork Church, gave the report on the 2011 Fall Retreat in New Harmony, Indiana, and hosted by North Central Region,.
Lunch Blessing: The blessing was offered by Paula Bell.
Lunch Break:
Hymn Sing: Following lunch the group joined in singing "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", "Fill My Cup", "Glory to His Name".
Afternoon program: Elaine Overton, Highland Church, presented hand-outs containing information concerning current missionaries of the denomination. She then continued with a brief narrative about each.
Memberships: Charlotte Guarneros, Flat Lick Church, gave information concerning the different memberships.

Business Session:
Correspondence Report: The Correspondence Committee report was read, accepted and filed as Appendix "B".
Resolutions Committee: Report was presented, accepted and filed as Appendix "C".
Executive Committee Report: Report was presented. Motion made, seconded and passed to accept. Report filed as Appendix "D".
Nominating Committee: For the 2012 – 2013 year, Sidney Milton is nominated for President and Lora Kerner, President-elect. The positions of Secretary and Treasurer were unfilled. The floor was opened for nominations. Motion made and seconded to elect Elaine York, Fredonia, Secretary and Donna Robertson, Oak Gove Union, Treasurer. Motion passed. Report filed as "Appendix E".
Treasurer Report: Report was presented by Donna Robertson. The report was accepted and filed. Copy included in minutes
Invitation for Spring Meeting: Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Flat Lick Church.
Reading of minutes: Motion made, seconded and passed that the minutes be read, corrected and approved by the Executive Committee.
Closing Announcements: Several announcements were made concerning upcoming events at local churches. The 2012 Fall Retreat hosted by Covenant Region will be Sept. 7 & 8, 2012, at Kentucky Dam Village State Park.
